Starting from 2008 all students of Faculty od Medicine Pavol Jozef Safarik University of Kosice are required to write and defend a thesis to obtain an academic degree, either first stage - bachelors (Bc.), second stage - masters (Mgr.), or doctors of medicine or dentistry (MUDr. or MDDr.). or third stage - PhD.

Specifically for our university:
You need to apply for specific topic of your thesis in 2nd year of bachelors program, 1st year of masters program and in 3rd year of doctors program through AIS.
It is usually helpful if you have specific topic already thought through and you suggest the specific thesis statement to your tutor.
Thesis statement is the cornerstone for thesis and its very helpful to think it through even before writing the thesis itself.
For bachelors degree the requested length is 30-40 pages, for masters and doctor of medicine or dentistry its 50-70 pages and for PhD. its 80-150 pages.
The contents of a thesis vary based on the program.
Bachelors thesis is based on mastering theory and terminology and sufficient level of knowledge, experience and skills. Usually a complilation or summarisation is sufficient, but some original research could be present.
Masters degree thesis is basically the same as bachelors thesis, but some original research is highly encouraged and may improve the end evaluation.
